Burnham has a beautiful waterfront that stretches from Rice and Cole boatyard in the east to the marina in the west, and indeed, since Creeksea is part of Burnham, all the way to the Creeksea Sailing Club.

The centre of the waterfront is dominated (east to west) by the Royal Corinthian Yacht Club, the Royal Burnham Yacht Club, the Anchor Hotel, the White Harte Hotel, the Star Inn and Prior’s Boatyard.

Walkers can ramble east five miles to the sea (see Walks), past a number of WWII gun emplacements and then on to Bradwell and Maldon.

Or you can head westwards to Althorne, Bridgemarsh Island and on to Fambridge, the latter roughly 8 miles from Burnham.
