The Crouch Harbour Authority  is the statutory governance for the Rivers Crouch and Roach.

Its office is in a weatherboard-clad building on the Quay opposite the public toilets and near the Star Inn.

They have a measure of control over everything below the high water mark.

They look after all shipping coming in and out of the river, and grant licences for river works – i.e. anything built below the high water mark.

Councillor Neil Pudney represents the Town Council on their board.
