Burnham on Crouch is twinned with L’Aiguillon-sur-Mer, a small picturesque fishing port in the Vendee Region on the western French coast, about 20 km north of La Rochelle.

The towns have been twinned since May 1980 and  there have been many exchange visits between the two communities over the years.

The aim of Twinning is to promote friendship between the communities and encourage visits from families and groups to share cultural, educational and recreational activities.

Sadly in August 2015 this organisation was dissolved and so exchanges are now organised by individuals or via the Town Council.
