The Burnham on Crouch Community Action Panel (B-CAP) addresses problems like crime, anti-social behaviour, road safety, parking and dog mess.

Until 2018,  it was known as the Neighbourhood Action Panel (NAP). NAPs were introduced in 2008 to allow local people input on police priorities.

The Community Action Panel is chaired by a person who is independent of the police force. The emphasis is on community engagement.

Essex Police representatives are almost always present and the meetings are open to the public.

CAP’s membership is made up of local citizens and representatives of local organisations and the Town Council.
