The event also included a half-marathon, 13.1 miles, from South Woodham Ferrers to Burnham’s beautiful Riverside Park. The event was open to runners and walkers of all abilities who want a rural trail challenge.
The event was organised by Maldon District Council in cooperation with Councillor Fiona Clegg.
‘Very well done to all from the competitors to the organisers … just superb’, wrote Belinda Allen on the event’s Facebook Page.
Threatening rainclouds were held at bay, creating cool and sunny running conditions – perfect for the event.
Duncan Grant, one of the runners, said that the ‘Inaugural Saltmarsh 1/2 was a great organised event, so pleased I took part. Keep it coming every year.’
