Burnham shops and businesses are signing up to the national Water Refill Scheme – an initiative to reduce plastic waste.
This is as a result of work by Jennifer Donnelly, who volunteers at the Burnham Museum.
This scheme allows people to fill up their plastic (or other) water bottles locally, especially when they are thirsty and out-and-about.
Currently, the following places welcome polite members of the public to fill up their water bottles:
- Anchor Hotel
- Bar3
- Burnham Bakery
- Burnham Sailing Club
- Cabin Dairy
- Dengie Hundred Sports Centre
- Domino’s
- Fozzo’s cafe
- Happy Returns
- Impamark
- King & Hines
- Let’s Go Bonkers
- New Welcome Sailor
- Parlour Cafe
- Quayside Café
- Queens Head
- Sauda Village Oyster Pit
- Sauda Village Chip shop
- The Ship Inn
- T’s Coffee Shop
- Victoria Inn
- Ye Olde White Harte
Want to join the scheme?
If you want to join the water refill scheme, contact Jennifer Donnelly on refillburmham@gmail.com – she is the local ‘Water Refill Champion’, and can speed up your inclusion in the scheme.
She will then tell the website editor to put you on the list above.
