The Burnham on Crouch Cemetery Chapel, in the middle of the Cemetery on Southminster Road, was built in 1894.
The Friends of the Burnham Cemetery Chapel was formed in 2009.
The Friends have volunteered to take over responsibility for the chapel with a view to its preservation.
They are represented on the Town Council by Councillor Ron Pratt.
